Luke Brunelle Sr., 88, died peacefully Tuesday surrounded by his family. He was born in Chicopee and has lived in South Hadley all his life. A farmer at heart and a mason by trade he owned and operated Brunelle’s Marina. He was a member of the Beaver Club and the Knights of Columbus. Luke loved animals, raising prize beef cattle, horses, rabbits, pigs and multiple dogs. Luke loved to work but most of all he loved his family. He leaves his loving wife of 58 years Josie (Gomez) Brunelle, his son Luke Brunelle Jr., of South Hadley, two sisters Ann Haber of South Hadley and Joan Lemieux of Enfield, two granddaughters Tiffany and her wife Candice and Madeleine and four great grandchildren Owen, Noah, Beau and Blake. He also leaves behind many god children. He was predeceased by his grandson Evan Brunelle in 2015. Friends and family are invited to the funeral Mass on Friday at 10 am in St. Patrick’s Church followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
